My Journey
Joined the Army
I joined the army at 16, seeking purpose and direction. After three years of experiencing mood swings, dark thoughts, and outbursts, I was referred to an army psychiatrist but was discharged without a diagnosis.
Years of Searching
For over three decades, I took antidepressants and received counselling for depression, never quite finding the answers I needed. The struggle was real, but so was my determination to understand what I was experiencing.
Finally Diagnosed
At age 50, I finally received my Bipolar Type 2 diagnosis — 31 years after my initial psychiatric referral. This moment changed everything. I finally understood myself and knew I had to help others avoid the same lengthy journey.
Building Solutions
In 2019, I approached Bipolar UK with a concept for a free mood tracking app. Working evenings and weekends, I developed the Bipolar UK Mood Tracker, which launched in 2022. Today, I continue building apps that help people manage their mental health and make mindful decisions.
